Commodoreâs Update
April 2021
Hello,
The PYC Board is optimistic the club will be operating this summer. Members will be requested to follow set protocols and respect common courtesies. These will be shared next month before Commissioning.
2021 Club Commissioning and the Commodoreâs Regatta is tentatively scheduled for Saturday May 29th.
Before then, our most immediate priority is finishing the construction of the South docks, refurbishing the middle dock and, as has been request by many, wrapping them both with decent dock edging. Volunteers have been working with the goal of a May 15th dock install date.
Private boats can be brought to the club grounds on Monday, May 17th.
We look forward to welcoming you back to the club. In the meantime, we hope everyone is readying their boat and checking the tide in preparation for the Commodore Regatta.

Please remember, boats may not be over 20â in length. If they are stored on site, it is with the intention of being used regularly. Each boat is required to have a sticker. Annual Membership Dues
The annual membership renewal process has been completed. Special appreciation and thanks goes out to the membership for the generous donations. I look forward to reporting what they are used for.
And thank you to our tireless Treasurer, Marian, who for many years has diligently and sometimes with required patience collected, deposited and recorded everyoneâs payments and pertinent info. We couldnât run the club without her.
Moorings
Members who keep a mooring in the field off the club known as the Meadows should be aware of a change in the Essex Harbor Management Commission private mooring policy. The Commission is requiring moorings be installed and removed professionally. Contact ehmc(a)essexct.gov<mailto:ehmc@essexct.gov> with any questions.
Only moorings that are used seasonally may be stored over the winter at the club.
If you have a mooring that will not be used this summer, please remove it from the grounds.
Any questions, please contact Corey Manero at rearcommodore(a)pettipaug.org<mailto:rearcommodore@pettipaug.org>.
