*Greetings From Commodore Ryan* Dear Pettipaug Members, I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as your Commodore for 2018 and to also thank Past Commodore Dave Courcy for his leadership over the past two years. While the Commissioning is still a few months away, the Clubâs Officers and volunteers are busy preparing for another great season and ensuring the house and grounds are in good shape throughout the year. Iâd like to share a few highlights of upcoming events with you â be sure to save the dates for the Commissioning and Mid-Summer party! I look forward to seeing you at the Club soon. *Race Committee Volunteers Needed:* PYC has a long tradition of volunteers keeping our club going and helping with Race Committee is a great way to help our club. No experience is necessary, we are planning a one-day clinic later this spring for training for anyone interested. You can't get a better seat in the house than on the committee boat, so come join the fun. We will have an initial planning meeting on Monday, February 12 at 7pm at the Ivoryton Library. Please email me at kmryan1995@gmail.com with any questions or to RSVP to Feb. 12 meeting. *Pettipaug Sailing Academy:* Applications for our junior sailing program are now available on our website. Returning sailors have priority enrollment until March 1. Please spread the word. Any questions should be directed to Vice-Commodore Amy Pullin, PSA Chair, at amygordonpullin@hotmail.com. *House and Grounds:* There have been some exceptional photo opportunities last month from Pettipaug of the frozen river. Unfortunately, we also suffered some damage to our pilings due to the ice. Our volunteers are already making plans for repairs this spring. I hope you will consider coming to help us at our spring work parties â initial work party scheduled for March 17 if the ice and weather cooperate.
