PSA is an instructional sailing program for juniors, ages 8 and up.
It is conducted from late June to mid-August. There are two 3 week sessions during the season; each session is divided into morning and afternoon classes. Morning classes typically are for beginners and junior sailors ages 8 to 11, when the winds are the lightest. Afternoon classes are for older returning sailors.
PSA is all about FUN on the water and teaching many important life lessons along the way sailing/racing skills, adapting to the forces of nature, personal responsibility and sportsmanship, to name a few. There are regatta opportunities for those that are interested.
Classes are conducted in Prams, Optimists, C/C 420s and O'pen BICs. Boat ownership is not required.
The PSA Director is supported by eight certified US Sailing instructors also trained in first aid and CPR.
