Dear Pettipaug Members ~
We received just a dusting of snow and perhaps
few are disappointed unless you have a snow-plow
service. Stay warm, stay safe…enjoy! Sandy and I
checked PYC yesterday- A-OK. Neighboring PYC
members, if you see anything unusual at PYC over
the winter months, please reach out to Jeff Going,
Rear Commodore: jeffgoing47@gmail.com and
or call the Essex Police Department. Thank you.
MEMBERSHIP
THANK YOU to all members who have returned
their 2025 membership renewal dues and updated
information. Please remit soon if you have not already
done so. There is a ton of things “to do” that are
scheduled on the 2025 agenda. Please know how much
we appreciate and need our membership to help in
maintaining and sustaining Pettipaug.

COMMUNICATION
The PYC 2025 calendar is filling up. Web-updates for 2025
will be completed and posted in early February. We will
notify you with any changes throughout the season.

Anniversary, we’d love you to share
your Pettipaug
memories and adventures. I’ll highlight some in this
newsletter and we will be creating a 75th Anniversary
segment on our web-site for your correspondence and

THE 75th ANNIVERSARY COMMITTEE
is forming with
the intent to hold the first meeting late January. Venue
and time to follow. We will begin planning festivities for
May 23- Reunion, May 24~ Commodore’s race and
Commissioning and perhaps an Alumni Race on
Sunday, May 25th. Mark your calendar, share with

PETTIPAUG SAFE POWER BOATING COURSE
Two-day hands-on Power Boat Operator course
Saturday and Sunday.
DATES: April 26/27, May 17/18, June 14/15, August 9/10
Sign up to learn and improve your powerboat skills!
The course covers the requirements to earn a
Connecticut Certificate of Personal Watercraft
Operation (CPWO) and provides hands-on power boat
training. It is one of the few hands-on courses available
in Connecticut.

WINTER CONSIDERATIONS for 2025 Spring Sailing Season
Pettipaug offers great opportunities to grab your boat and
get out and sail. The camaraderie, the acquired skills learned
from time on the water and shared experiences promote
great sailing times at PYC. Not a sailor? PYC is always in need
of those interested in helping with Race Committee. Here is
