The BOARD of GOVENORS voted in late February to “purchase “
and “take care” of new or nearly new grounds- keeping equipment.
All Items will be kept in the shed and cleaned after each use. Trimmer
Weedwacker, Push Mower are all battery operated. Rakes, hand
clippers shovels, all in the shed , all in good shape. Everything is
there when we need it to be able to better maintain our premises.
Watering cans are in both the ladies and men’s room, please feel
free to water when you have the urge. Chirs Perry, PJSA Instructors,
George, Pam and Bill and ALL others who have helped with clipping
and trimming. THANK YOU. I thank Pam and Bill Carson for their
SILVER PINWHEELS that have seemingly deterred my nemesis ..
my pal~ the piliated wood pecker!
PJSA
Instructors, parents and children have arrived~ Many children this
year and starting off the season in record breaking heat and having
a ball! EVERYONE who is coming and going needs to slow down and
be cognizant of kids crossing . The Director, Instructors and JI’s are
employed by PJSA. Let’s not disturb them during academy hours.
Thank you!
LOST
Men’s black Ray Ban sun glasses left on Sunday, June 22nd. Please
contact our new member Mike Donahue if you have found them.
Mike Donahue
mikedonahue1@gmail.com . Mike just purchased
the Vanguard 15 that Sandy was selling in the boat yard. For God’s
sake I wish someone would purchase the large red Boston Whaler
trailer. Make an offer. Please.
NEWBIES
5 p.m. Sunday, June 22, beautiful late afternoon on the PYC deck, soft
jazz and a full bar to celebrate, meet and enjoy all new 2024~ 2025
members! The 30 or so new members killed the “bring an appetizer”;
wonderful , creative and delicious offerings~ Thank You. As always
chef Courant augmented treats and beautifully set up the venue. This
was our first orientation for new members and everyone was so thankful
that I did not sardine them into the Commodore’s Room form for one of my
head banger power point shows...but we did cover informative and
important information: be careful not to drive into the ditches’, don’t
drink the water, I did indeed print out the power point that identifies
officers and Board members, always call 911 FIRST if there is an emergency.
Folders with all contents printed by Bob Cashman were distributed. 2025
Roster enclosed. Sandy discussed the importances and value of
VOLUNTEERISM as PYC is comprised of all Volunteers. Peter Charbonnier,
PYC Treasurer succinctly and briefly discussed club finances, Past Commodore
Mischa van Berkel applauded all who were former PJSA students and he brought
us up to date on PJSA 2025. Ali Charbonnier brought “the Ship’s Store: deck side.
ALL the new members were given the floor to introduce and tell a bit about
themselves. VERY interesting and charming group!
VOLUNTEERISM
We are in need for people who are considering participating on RACE
COMMITTEE to please come this Saturday, July 5th and learn what Race
Committee does and how important it is to the functioning of our racing
/sailing programs. Please come at 9:30, bring hat, water, sunscreen,
shoes, snacks and meet out team. There is a ONE DESIGN Race that
we will held at 1 p.m. this Saturday, fun racing and great way to get your
feet wet as a volunteer.
