Dear Blue Water Racers,
Essex Yacht Club is grateful to the Marion Bermuda Committee for
their efforts in promoting The Sam Wetherill Trophy Race, our club's
140-mile blue water race. EYC is committed to fostering challenging racing
in our region, and over the past five years, The Wetherill has become one of
the premier races on Long Island Sound. We couldn’t do this without the
support of the Marion Bermuda Committee and others who are dedicated
to the promotion of sailing.
Once you've warmed up in the Wetherill, we encourage EYC and all
racers to spread the word about the MBR and commit to being at their starting
line on June 20th. This year, the organizers are offering a PHRF Division,
which will surely increase interest among many racers in our area.
For more information on the race, please see the announcement below
from the Marion to Bermuda Organizing Committee.
