February 2, 2024, the Ground Hog did NOT see his shadow, therefore predicting an early
spring! The sun will set at 5:25 tonight and beginning now, mid-February, we will gain 3
minutes of sunlight per day. Spring is right around the corner and so much to do. But,
today, the 14th is a special day for romance, for big hugs and gestures of kindness, for
sweethearts and kisses~ perhaps “shiny things”, for family and friends~ human and fur.

2024 Membership.
Many thanks to those who have paid to date. Others, please do so by the end of this
month, this would be very appreciated!
WORK PARTIES:
A list of dates scheduled for work that needs to be done on the docks and club building
will be sent next week. The date and who to contact will be on this list. We thank you in advance for your
time and help. An early April all-hands-on- deck Saturday work party will be announced for all the schlepping,
yard work etc. that is required to open for the season.
DOCK update:
New middle docks are being built by Essex Dredge and Dock, Dan Rutan, owner, with the arrival
and installation date of early April.

PYC Commencement. This is inspired by being bogged down by the flu (?) and watching old films: What is the
name of the film that a model of a sailboat the “ True Love”* was given as a wedding present? Send answers to:
*this model was based on an actual boat, the True Love (originally the Venona ll), a Malabar design by John Alden
(built for racing). And…which as of 2021, sails on Seneca Lake out of Watkins Glen, New York, as an excursion boat for
Schooner Excursions.
