Commodores Update
February 2021
Hello,
I am sure everyone is noticing the days are already getting longer. Spring is around the corner and Covid
numbers are improving. The PYC Board is optimistic the club will be operating this summer with new guidelines in place. The health and safety of the membership, club exposure and maintenance of Covid protocols will be our highest
priority. State and local COVID-19 regulations and guidelines will be observed. Members will be requested to follow set protocols and respect common courtesies. Knowing everything is fluid, we are taking this one step at a time. We will share specific policies
and requirements for club usage and access as we get closer to a Commissioning. We look forward to welcoming you back to the club.
In the meantime, we hope everyone is prepping for a great season on the water.

Pertinent information and updates follow:
Annual Membership Dues
The easiest way
ALL Pettipaug members can help in the off season is by paying your membership upon receipt of the bill. Annual membership bills were mailed a month ago.
Please review your personal information, check your club interests and return the
form with payment in the envelope provided ASAP. If you did not receive an invoice, please contact membership@pettipaug.org.
Approximately half of the membership has paid. Quite a few members were in the position
to include a donation to PYC and/or PSA. These donations are much appreciated and will be put to good use this summer.
Essex Savings Bank Community Investment Program Voting
closes this Sunday
If you have a bank account at Essex Savings Bank, you are eligible to cast a vote
for the Pettipaug Sailing Association (PSA) in their Community Investment Program.
Each year Essex Savings Bank donates up to 10% of its after-tax net income to nonprofit
organizations and community development. This year Pettipaug Sailing Academy (PSA), the junior sailing program, is on the ballot.
Voters must be an Essex Savings Bank customer and can vote for up to three non-profits.
Donation amounts to the nonprofits are based on customer support or votes. Last year 64 customers voted for PSA, resulting in a $1,052 donation to the Pettipaug Sailing Academy.
Ballots are available at the drive up. You may have to ask. Or you can vote by logging
into your Essex Savings Bank account online. Voting is only open the month of February so there are only a few days left. Please vote. PSA appreciates your support.
Private Boats at Pettipaug
Please hold off on bringing your private boats to the club until a date is announced.
With the new South dock, overhaul of the middle dock and old South dock on site, space is at a commodity and there will be a lot of logistics and movement. We dont want to hinder dock progress or damage any private boats.
Pettipaug Saling Academy (PSA)
We are pleased to announce our intentions to run PSA, the junior sailing program,
this summer. All state and local COVID-19 regulations and guidelines will be followed. Specific policies and requirements will be shared as they are determined.
For planning purposes, three 2 week sessions
will be available.
June 28-July 9
July 12-July 23
July 26-August 6
Morning classes, 8:30-12:00
Afternoon classes 12:30-4:00
More information and enrollment forms will be on the
Pettipaug
web site shortly.
An announcement will be sent when 2021 registration is open.
Moorings
Members who keep a mooring in the field off the club known as the Meadows should be aware of a change in the Essex Harbor Management Commission private mooring
policy. The Commission is requiring moorings be installed and removed professionally. Contact

Only moorings that are used seasonally may be stored over the winter at the club. If you have a mooring that will not be used this summer, please remove it from the grounds. Any
questions, please contact Corey Manero at rearcommodore@pettipaug.org.
