INTENT: We are looking for PYC MEMBERS – who enjoy camaraderie, to join Pettipaug Race

Committee (PRC). There is lots of fun and knowledge to be had in taking part in putting on

races for the club’s sailors. Choose a role on LAND or WATER that suits you!

Do you need experience? Not so much because you’ll learn as you go (on the job!)
Does it help to be a former sailor? Sure, knowing the game helps, but you’ll learn!
Do I have to be sailing currently? It’s better if you aren’t racing these days.
Everyone who can and wants to race - should be racing!

MEET THE CREW: Jeff Going, 2024 Pettipaug Race Committee Chairman will lead off the night.

Dick Hutchinson, PRC Administrator is seminar host. You’ll meet and listen to fellow Pettipaug

members who’ve worked on Race Committee. Sign-up for: race dates, on- the- land and on-the

- water work-shops in April.

GUEST SPEAKER: Greg Gilmartin. In 1975, Greg was thrown into a fun competition on a Sunfish

and was hooked. He has raced ever since, with the best years spent campaigning his J-29,

“Mama Said No!” Greg joined the Mystic Mudhead Racing Association’s Race Committee 12 years

ago and rapidly moved up to U.S. Sailing ARO (Area Race Officer). Locally, Greg has run the EYC

Rum Challenge as PRO (Principal Race Officer) and ECYC’s Cross Sound Challenge. Greg is also Off

Sounding’s Race

Committee Chair.

hearty souls, who enjoy their grog and enjoy talking sailing and RC .
