Members are welcome to bring smaller boats (under 20 feet) to the club for the season, but you must register and get a PYC sticker. Email Jim Carey at jciaus@yahoo.com <jciaus@yahoo.com> with your name, address, phone number, boat type/name and Jim will arrange to have a PYC sticker placed on your boat so we may identify boats and owners. Thank you for your cooperation. Also, please remember we do not allow storage of empty trailers at the club. Recycling is now up and running at PYC. We have added a separate recycling bin next to the trash dumpster at the club. Please separate your waste appropriately and dispose of it in the correct container when you clean up. Help us keep PYC green. Seeking Donations for Junior Sailing ImprovementsWe are in the process of improving safety at our sailing academy by acquiring propeller guards for our powerboats that are used in our junior sailing program when we have young sailors on the water. The guards are a protective cage encircling the prop, thus preventing accidental contact with props in the water. To date, we have 3 families from our sailing program that have each donated the funds for a propeller guard, which cost just under $200 each. They also have secured a volunteer to install them at no cost to us. We have 7 more boats that need prop guards as well. If you would like to join these families and make a donation, please send your donation (and check payable) to Pettipaug Sailing Academy at PO Box 372, Essex, CT 06426 and note it is for the prop guards. Thank you for your consideration and PSA donations may be tax deductible. Have Any Old Sails? If you are cleaning house and find old sails you would like to donate, Amy Pullin Gordon is collecting them.
