Spring Work Party Our Spring work party will be held on Saturday, March 21st. Please join us for a pre-season club clean up. Members who help with the docks are asked to be at the club for a 0700 (7am) start. All other volunteers are asked to join at 9 am. We have a job for everyone, so come for an hour or come for the morning. This is a great way to meet fellow members and ready the club for another great season. Annual Membership Dues Approximately 70% of the membership has paid their annual dues. Please let volunteers check this task off their list by paying your bill. Review your personal information on the bill, check your club interests and return the form with payment in the envelope provided. If you do not wish to remain a member, please let us know. Pettipaug Junior Saling(PSA) Registration is now open for Pettipaug Sailing Academy, PSA. Registration is on a first come basis, so encourage anyone interested in signing up to go to the Pettipaug web site<https://www.pettipaug.com/PYC-academyPage.html>, the PSA section and check out our program and application. We offer both recreational and racing sailing for youth. North U. Sail Trim & Boat Speed Seminar Essex Yacht Club is hosting a North U Seminar on sail trim and boat speed on Saturday, March 14th 0900 â 1700. All sailors in the area are welcome. The program is discounted for Junior sailors. Todd Berman, a world-class racer with championship wins in one-designs including the 470, J24 and J105 classes, maxi-yachts and handicap racing will be presenting. As a former sailmaker and leading helmsman he knows what it takes to find that extra bit of boat speed to get or to break a critical overlap! The fee is $35 for course materials & $25 for lunch & snacks. If you ever wanted to volunteer for Race Committee (RC), but werenât exactly sure what was involved, this course is for you. It would also be good for racer;). Everything having to do with properly running club racing will be covered. If you are interested in Club Race Officer (CRO) Certification, completion of this course is one of the requirements. Gowrie Group Connecticut River Leukemia Cup Regatta Be part of the third annual Connecticut River Leukemia Cup Regatta to benefit the lifesaving work of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society on May 2nd (rain date May 3rd). The event is sponsored by the Gowrie Group in cooperation with the Essex Corinthian, Essex, Duck Island, Frostbite and Pettipaug Yacht Clubs. Support this worthy cause by sailing during the day and/or attend the post-race party that night and/or donating to competing teams or participants campaigns. All are welcome! Expected racing classes to date are: Blue Jays, Lasers, Etchells, Ideal 18s, IC24s and RS Aeros. Pettipaug plans a large showing of Blue Jays and post-race party attendees.
