It's not too late to sign up to race or volunteer. Robin Starr Race The Skippers meeting is at noon and the water start time is 1pm. This is a distance race scored using the Portsmouth handicap. The course is typically 3 - 4 miles. Depending on the wind direction, boats will sail around a buoy north of Essex Harbor, north of the club and back to the club. The race can take anywhere between 1 - 3 hours based on your boat, skill and luck. All Pettipaug sailors are welcome. For this race, the Scow fleet will have their own start. The Charles Birch Memorial Race The third race of the Tri-Club River Race Series, the Charles Birch Memorial Race, is this Saturday. This race is for smaller PHRF boats. The foliage should be beautiful and the water smooth. Participation in the first two races is not required to participate in this event.
