[cid:image001.png@01D8ED5C.14D88D20] Commodore's Update - November 2022 Dear Pettipaug members, The last races have been raced, the club has been decommissioned and we are celebrating Halloween. This means that we are wrapping up the season and start preparing for the winter. Both are essential for the continuation of our club and therefore I kindly ask your attention for the activities that are scheduled for the next few weeks. Boat removal All members are kindly requested to remove all boats by Friday November 4th latest. This because on Saturday, we will be having our winterizing work party. Therefore, the yard must be cleared for dock storage and yard cleanup. Winterizing work party and dock removal This Saturday November 5, at 9am all members are kindly invited to help during the winterizing work party. We will have a long list of activities that must be done in order to make our club ready for the winter. Bring your gardening tools, working gloves and make sure you are dressed to do some physical work at the club. I hope we can welcome you all for a task or two. As always, many hands make light work. We will take care of coffee and snacks! Annual meeting Last but not least, last week you all received the invitation for the Pettipaug Annual Meeting that is traditionally held in November of each year. Besides the formal topics, we will take the opportunity to thank all volunteers, hand out our annual awards and celebrate another good season. There will be a dinner buffet and an open bar. On Saturday November 12th, the doors at Essex Corinthian Yacht Club will open at 6pm. Costs will be $40 per person to be paid at the door. Please RSVP to Mary Lee Schroeter via Mschroeter316@gmail.com<mailto:Mschroeter316@gmail.com>. I am looking forward to meet everyone in good spirit at this final club activity of the year.
