Good morning Pettipaug Members, Please find below and attached the announcement and NOR for the Thomas S. Willets Memorial Trophy Race on October 7th. This race is the first of the Tri-Club Trophy series organized by the three Essex based clubs: Essex YC, Essex Corinthian YC and ofcourse Pettipaug YC. Mischa van Berkel Commodore Greetings all! Get ready for a late season fun day of racing on the Connecticut River on Saturday, October 7! The Essex Yacht Club invites you and your fellow members/friends to enter the Thomas S. Willets Memorial Trophy Race for "cruising" boats 23' or more on the CT River between Old Lyme and Pettipaug. For those who have not sailed in this race before, the Willets Memorial is the first of three separate races sponsored annually in October by EYC, Essex Corinthian YC (Clark Memorial) and Pettipaug YC (Birch Memorial) respectively. Check out their websites for their NOR's. Trophies are awarded for each individual race, and if you are able to make all three races, a Tri-Club Trophy goes to the boat with the best combined performance. In addition we will have a class for Ideal 18's. Please spread the word among Frostbite Ideal sailors. Attached are the Notice of Race for your distribution to potential contestants.
