[cid:image001.png@01D9C57B.80F8F970] Pettipaug One Design Racing - August 2023 Dear Pettipaug Members, This Saturday, August 5, there will be the third session of Pettipaug One Design Series. The Notice Of Race and Sailing Instructions can be found on the website<https://www.pettipaug.com/PDFs/PYC23%20NOR.pdf>. The One Design Series will be open to all members, sailing any dinghy class. All classes that will register with 3 or more boats, will be started and will race against each other. No difficult handicap calculations, just fair and square racing. So please connect with your fellow class sailors to ensure that there will be at least 3 boats of your class on the line; the more the merrier. The course will be short and simple, so that we can have as many races as possible for maximum enjoyment. Skippers meeting will take place on the PYC clubhouse deck at 11:45am. The Warning Signal for the first race will be at 1:00pm. No races will start after 4:00pm. This time, we will have an extra bonus activity. This Saturday Zack Clayton will be at Pettipaug to run a short racing seminar before the start of the One Design racing. Zack is one of the multi-year top MC Scow sailors in the country. Although his focus during the seminar will be on scow-sailing, it is open to all interested members. There will be a short on shore run through and then on the water coaching before and during the races. There will be a Q and A after the races. There will be no fee. The seminar will start at 11am sharp, so make sure that your boat is ready and rigged by that time. See attached Zack's (sailing) resume. I am looking forward to seeing you all on Saturday.
