Bombaci Proposal The Essex Harbor Management Commission reviewed the âBombaci Improvement Projectâ at their regularly scheduled meeting on Thursday, October 22nd, 2020 at 7:00 pm. Minutes and a recording of the meeting can be found at https://www.essexct.gov/harbor-management-commission. The Bombaci Family, LLC proposed to construct an elevated platform and to expand the existing dock to support a marine construction business and shad fishing at their Essex property on the corner of Great Meadows Road located on the Connecticut River. The elevated platform would measure approximately 31â x 78â (2,154 SF) with a deck elevation of 7.0â MLW. The expansion would involve replacing the existing floating dock with a 10â x 60â main floating dock and two (2) 4â x 18â floating finger docks at the end to form a T-head (all restrained by anchor piles), and installation of four (4) dolphin tie-off piles. In addition, the applicant was seeking to authorize and maintain the existing boulder/cobble shoreline. Numerous participants in the audience expressed concerns about interference with the sailing academy, small boat sailing, rowing and safety, as well as the fact the piece of property is zoned residential. A MOTION was made by Joe Zaraschi to deny the subject application due to the fact the commercial activity of the Bombaci Improvement Project proposal is inconsistent with the Harbor Management Plan. SECONDED by John Senning; Voting in Favor: Joe Zaraschi, Terry Stewart, John Senning, Earl Fowler; Opposed: None; Abstaining: None; Approved: 4/0/0. End of Season Removal of Boats and Personal Property Please remove your boats, kayaks, boards and any personal property from the Pettipaug grounds by Sunday, November 22nd. Items left after 90 days will be subject to removal and disposal. 2021 Annual Membership Renewal At the October Board meeting the 2021 Membership Renewal fee was reviewed. The Board voted the 2021 Annual Renewal Fee will remain the same at $95, while the Capital Reserve Fee will increase ten dollars to $40. (As a reminder, a Capital Reserve Fund was established in 2016 to systematically accumulate monies to be used solely for capital improvements, major repairs, replacements and emergencies.) The total 2021 membership bill for Pettipaug Yacht Club will be $135. PSA Looking for Old Sails PSA is looking for the donation of old sails. If you have any, we would be happy to pick them up.
