[PYC-News] Pettipaug Sailing Academy News- Registration is open and looking for Optis
[cid:9d32bc23-e343-44af-8f6a-3101b686adf3] Pettipaug Sailing Academy (PSA) registration is open PSA is an instructional sailing program for juniors, ages 8 and up. It is conducted from late June to mid-August. There are two 3 week sessions during the season; each session is divided into morning and afternoon classes. Morning classes typically are for beginners and junior sailors ages 8 to 11, when the winds are the lightest. Afternoon classes are for older returning sailors. PSA is all about FUN on the water and teaching many important life lessons along the way â sailing/racing skills, adapting to the forces of nature, personal responsibility and sportsmanship, to name a few. There are regatta opportunities for those that are interested. Classes are conducted in Prams, Optimists, C/C 420s and O'pen BICs. Boat ownership is not required. The PSA Director is supported by eight certified US Sailing instructors also trained in first aid and CPR. TO REGISTER: Go to www.pettipaug.com<http://www.pettipaug.com/>. Looking for used Optis PSA, the Pettipaug Junior Sailing Program, is looking to acquire a few good, used Optis for the coming season. Only boats that meet the criteria listed below will be considered. Criteria: Hull - No structural damage or major structural repairs Blades - GRP or Epoxy Rig - Complete with all lines and blocks Airbags and Hiking Straps - 3 bags and all straps Sail - Practice or Race Sail with battens and no rips or tears Accessories - Dolly / Cover / Extra Sail If you have an Opti you are no longer using and wish it to be considered, please email Amy Gordon Pullin at vicecommodore@pettipaug.org by Monday, May 20th.
